★ Entries ★
Azrael Reed from Virginia was excited to join a group that does reenacting of the American Revolutionary period. His mom says, "It's one thing to read about history; it's another thing to be fully immersed in it: to fall into formation with the army, to smell the gun powder, to eat camp food and warm up by the fire at night. It's been such a great experience to speak with the public and educate them on African American life as well as what children did during that time period."
Daniel Barley from Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania, says of his "American Eagle": "I wanted to draw this because it's cool and I like it. It helps to celebrate America's birthday."
Aesha Patel from Georgia drew this picture to illustrate equality, freedom, diversity, and inclusion.
